We sell machine cut EGR Blanking Plates to fit all 2.5 diesel Mazda Bongo & Ford Freda.
We've sold and fitted these blanking plates for more than 5 years.
We also supply them to the Bongo groups.
The existing Bongo EGR gasket is a machine cut metal plate with a hole.
Our EGR Blanking Plate is a machine cut metal plate without a hole. It was designed as a replacement for the gasket. It is fitted in place of the gasket.
The existing Mazda Bongo EGR gasket does not have sealant. Our EGR Blanking Plate is also fitted without sealant. (Although you can add sealant if you prefer.)
Our Mazda Bongo EGR Blanking Plates are quick and easy to fit.
You can fit 1 EGR blanking plate.
But we fit 2 blanking plates, to seal and isolate the EGR system completely. This prevents future problems with loss of pressure from a split pipe.
There's no complicated, time consuming EGR removal.
The EGR system and connections remain in place. They can be reinstated if required.
Our EGR Blanking Plates are fitted at your own risk, but we've not heard of a problem since we first started fitting them more than 5 years ago.
Some people have reported improved MPG and cold starting after fitting EGR blanking plates to their Bongo or Freda. This suggests there may have been a problem with their EGR system.
See Mazda Bongo EGR Blanking Plate Fitting Guides below.

I've never seen gasket sealant on a Bongo EGR gasket. So I remove the existing gasket and fit the blanking plate in its place, also without sealant.
I have not had a problem with this in 5+ years of fitting the blanking plates.
A few people fit the plates with the gasket in place and add sealant.
