Other garages may have similar terms and conditions. Ours are openly available, so there are no hidden surprises for our customers.
'Vehicles, keys and contents left at owners risk' signs are prominently displayed at the premises and relate to these terms and conditions. Booking your vehicle with us, leaving your vehicle here or moving your vehicle within the premises area is considered to be acceptance of these terms and conditions.
We reserve the right to move vehicles in the workshop, parking area, yard, private road or highway, by driving or otherwise, to such extent as necessary to avoid obstruction and for the arrangement of our workload.
We additionally reserve the right, where the premises has to be closed either permanently or temporarily in whole or in part or has to be evacuated in cases of emergency or for maintenance and/or other works to be undertaken, to remove any vehicle at any time to any other reasonably convenient parking area within the premises or otherwise as may be expedient.
To the extent that it may be necessary to do so in the exercise of the rights conferred upon us under this condition, 'Allans', its servants or agents shall have the right to drive or otherwise take the vehicle on the public highway.
Owners of vehicles are reminded that their own policies of insurance must be utilised in order to make any claim if loss or damage occurs, unless the loss or damage caused is as a result of our negligence.
‘Vehicle’ shall mean any vehicle booked in at or visiting or left at 'Allans' in the workshop building or anywhere outside the workshop building, at the premises, yard, on the road, in the parking areas or entering or leaving these areas and shall include any mechanical or electric means of transport including keys, accessories and anything attached to it or left in it or on it.
‘Allans’ shall mean Allan Bugg and Allans Vehicle Services whose business address is Wixenford Depot, Colesdown Hill, Plymouth, PL9 8AA.
People often ask Allans for advice; all advice is given in good faith and is believed to be correct but is followed at your own risk.
What is covered by 'Allans' insurance?
Our workmanship is covered by our insurance.
The parts we supply are covered by our insurance.
Damage or loss caused to vehicles, keys or contents, as a result of our own negligence, is covered by our insurance.
What is not covered by 'Allans' insurance?
The parts that customers supply are not covered by our insurance.
Damage to or loss of vehicles, keys and contents, which is not caused as a result of our own negligence, is not covered by our own insurance.
This applies whether the vehicle has been left by or moved by the customer or an agent of the customer, or left by or moved by us or our agent. We offer no warranty or indemnity as to the protection or safety of vehicles, its contents, keys or goods or otherwise left within or on the vehicles while the vehicle is here, unless the loss or damage caused is as a result of our negligence. No servant or agent has authority to accept any liability on our behalf.
Price includes vat where stated.
Invoice must be paid in full on collection of vehicle.
We prefer payment by debit card.
Other forms of payment are accepted.
Payment by Credit card must be agreed prior to booking.
A fee may be charged for some cards.
We do not accept American Express or cheques.
Collection of vehicles: Vehicles must be collected upon notification of completion of work. Vehicle will not be released unless invoice is paid in full. We do not operate credit facilities. Failure to collect the vehicle without arrangement will result in storage charges being applied.
Abandoned vehicles: “Allans” reserves the right to sell any vehicle which it reasonably believes to have been abandoned and shall be entitled to regard as abandoned any vehicle which has been left at the premises for more than 28 days without prior notification in writing or by acknowledged email.
In the unlikely event of a complaint arising, we will ensure that it will be investigated quickly, fully and fairly. Our customers can be confident that we would take a complaint seriously and they will be listened to and kept informed.
Please bring any matter to the attention of the Proprietor, Allan Bugg, who will address and try to resolve the matter.
If our customer is not satisfied with the resolution offered, they can put the complaint in writing to Trading Standards, Civic Centre, Plymouth, PL1 2AA
or to The IMI
If we are unable to resolve the matter, our customer will be advised.
We operate 24hr CCTV in the premises, workshop, and office waiting area.
